Brown Middle School to Host Texas State University MathWorks Camp Open To All Incoming 4th and 5th Graders

McAllen TX - Brown Middle School will host the Texas State University MathWorks Camp from Monday, July 13, through Thursday, July 23, 2026, for incoming fourth and fifth grade students across McAllen Independent School District.
The free program is designed to provide a rich and diverse academic experience to gifted and potentially gifted students in mathematics. Instructional days run Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Brown Middle School. Lunch is provided daily, though no transportation is available.
Camp teachers are trained through Texas State University’s MathWorks program. Students will engage in high-level math problem solving, collaborative learning and critical thinking, and preparation for Pre-AP, AP, and advanced math pathways, along with college and career readiness activities.
Enrollment is limited, and registration is encouraged early.
