McAllen TX - The City of McAllen will recognize the McAllen Public Library as a McAllen Shines Champion on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., at the library, 4001 N. 23rd St.
The award celebrates individuals, businesses and organizations that demonstrate environmental stewardship, civic pride and dedication to improving quality of life in McAllen, according to the city.
Mayor Javier Villalobos and the McAllen City Commission, City Manager Isaac J. Tawil and city leadership, Public Works Director Robert Trevino and staff, and Library Director Kate Horan and staff are expected to attend.
The McAllen Shines Champion Award is an initiative led by Mayor Villalobos and the City of McAllen Public Works Department, recognizing residents, schools, businesses and neighborhoods that go above and beyond to keep McAllen beautiful, clean and civic-minded.
