Edinburg, TX - Hidalgo County property owners have until Monday, Feb. 2, to pay their 2025 property taxes without incurring penalties and interest, county officials said.
Payment deadline and hours
Feb. 2 is the final day taxes may be paid without added penalties or interest. Payments sent by mail will be considered timely if postmarked by that date. Tax office business hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tax office locations
Property owners may pay in person at the Hidalgo County Tax Assessor-Collector’s main office in Edinburg or at sub-stations throughout the county.
The Edinburg main office is located at 2804 S. Business Hwy. 281. Sub-stations are available in Weslaco at 1900 Joe Stephens, Suite B; San Juan at 509 E. Earling Road; Mission at 722 N. Breyfogle Road; Pharr at 300 W. Hall Acres Road, Suite C; McAllen at 300 E. Hackberry, Suite 3; Elsa at 708 Edinburg Ave., Suite B; and Alamo at 1429 S. Tower Road. The Alamo sub-station is open Mondays and Tuesdays only.
Payment options available
Taxes may also be paid online at hidalgocountytax.org using a credit or debit card or by electronic check. In addition, payments may be made with cash or check at all Lone Star National Bank locations within Hidalgo County.
Officials noted that property owners must present their original light yellow tax statement or an online statement when paying at the bank.
