Edinburg TX - The Hidalgo County Elections Department is accepting applications for poll workers to staff the November 3, 2026, General Election, Elections Administrator Hilda A. Salinas announced Monday.
The department needs a total of 900 poll workers for the election. Pay rates have been increased and are as follows:
Judge: $19 per hour
Alternate Judge: $17 per hour
Clerk: $15 per hour
Poll workers must be available to work Election Day from 5:45 a.m. to approximately 9 p.m.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Be a registered voter of Hidalgo County
Complete an online Poll Worker Training Session for each election
Be prepared to work on Election Day, Nov. 3, 2026
Be non-partisan and neutral when working an election
“We encourage residents to apply and become a part of the electoral process,” Salinas said.
