McAllen, TX - A national touring concert celebrating the global K-pop music phenomenon is scheduled to make a stop in McAllen this spring. Producers announced that “Forever K-Pop – A Celebration Concert” will perform one show at the McAllen Performing Arts Center on May 3 at 3 p.m.
The production, created by Right Angle Entertainment and Maple Tree Entertainment, is touring more than 30 cities nationwide and is designed as a tribute-style concert experience inspired by the worldwide popularity of K-pop and the recent film KPop Demon Hunters.
The show features a cast of singers and dancers including Leo Lam as KAI, Ally Choe as SORA, Tuânminh A. Đỗ as JIN, Emily Anne Goes as MINA, Marine Tamada-Wu as LUNA and Amanda Nawata Neiman as DJ NARI. The performers will present live singing, choreographed dance numbers and multimedia visuals intended to recreate the high-energy style associated with the genre.
Organizers said the performance will be presented in two 45-minute acts and will include popular K-pop songs such as “Seven” by Jungkook featuring Latto, BTS’ “Butter,” BLACKPINK’s “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” NewJeans’ “Supershy” and Stray Kids’ “Maniac,” along with songs connected to the KPop Demon Hunters project.
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and the McAllen Performing Arts Center box office. VIP “Superfan” packages are also available and include premium seating, merchandise, early venue access and a photo opportunity with performers.
