MCALLEN, Texas — Main Library will host a book presentation for “Praisesong for the People: Poems from the Heart & Soul of Texas” at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 9.
The event will highlight voices from the Rio Grande Valley through poetry that reflects the region’s culture, history and spirit.
Featured Poets
Participating poets include Amanda Johnston, Jan Seale, Avery C. Castillo, Amanda Puryear El, Kenan Phillip, Emmy Perez, Daniel Garcia Ordaz, Julieta Corpus, Victor Leo Cruz, Paola Carrasco and Edward Vidaurre.
Event Details
The presentation will take place at Main Library, Auditorium & Meeting Rooms AB, located at 4001 N. 23rd St. in McAllen.
Organizers describe the evening as an opportunity to experience storytelling rooted in the heritage and lived experiences of the Rio Grande Valley.
