MCALLEN, Texas - The McAllen City Commission will consider a wide-ranging agenda Monday, April 13, including multiple zoning changes, major roadway construction contracts, grant funding adjustments and airport equipment purchases.
The meeting will begin with a 4 p.m. workshop followed by the regular meeting at 4:45 p.m. at McAllen City Hall.
Workshop Focus: Legal, Real Estate, Economic Development
The workshop agenda is limited but significant, primarily focused on preparatory discussions and closed-door briefings.
Commissioners will:
Review and ask questions about items on the regular meeting agenda

The consent agenda includes several notable capital purchases and upgrades:
Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) vehicle for McAllen International Airport
New playground equipment at Retama Park
Field lighting and electrical upgrades at Escandon Field
Additional items include erosion control improvements at Champions Lake Golf Course and updates to public transit compliance plans.
Grant Funding and Cybersecurity Investments
The commission will consider multiple amendments to resolutions tied to state and federal funding.

Up to $90,000 request for Border Zone Fire Department grant
Increase in Homeland Security funding request to over $1.1 million
