MCALLEN TX - The McAllen ISD Board of Trustees will hold two workshop meetings this week, the first addressing the district’s proposed 2026-2027 budget and the second covering bond project management and construction.
Budget Workshop
The board will meet Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the 2026-2027 proposed budget. Discussion items include proposed budget revenues by object code with a two-year comparison, proposed budget revenues by appropriation by fund, and appropriations by function.
Additional items include a public notice, a taxpayer impact statement, the proposed 2026-2027 tax rate and tax trend, proposed compensation, staffing guidelines, and a draft budget book.
The item was submitted by Lorena Garcia, Deputy Superintendent for Business and Operations, and will be presented by Superintendent Dr. René Gutiérrez.
Bond Project Management Workshop
The board will meet Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. to discuss bond project management and construction, with a presentation by Eichelbaum Wardell Hansen Powell & Munoz, P.C.
The item was submitted by Garcia and will be presented by Gutiérrez.
Both meetings include a call to order, public comment period, and adjournment.
