McAllen, TX - The McAllen Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, to consider a range of instructional, financial and governance items, including the 2026-2027 school calendar and a potential bond election order.
The regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Dr. Ricardo Chapa Board Room at the McAllen ISD Administration Building, 2000 N. 23rd St. You can see the full agenda here. Consent agenda items
Trustees are scheduled to consider multiple consent agenda items, including proposals related to catering and event services, apparel and printing services, and an amendment to an interlocal cooperation agreement with Hidalgo County tied to a public health preparedness and response grant.
The board will also receive a report regarding the purchase of the Qualtrics cloud-native software platform.
Instructional and academic matters
Under instructional services, the agenda includes a report on the Digital Learning and Library Services Department and consideration of a memorandum of understanding with Region One Education Service Center for college preparatory mathematics and English language arts.
Trustees will also consider approval of the 2026-2027 McAllen ISD school calendar.
Bond issue, business, operations and financial items
Business and operations items include reports on delinquent tax collections, tax revenues collected from October through December 2025, and the district’s monthly financial and quarterly investment report.
The board is also scheduled to consider a January budget amendment for the 2025-2026 fiscal year and take possible action on an order calling a bond election for the district.
Additional items include consideration of a memorandum of understanding related to the Standard Response Protocol and Standard Reunification Method with the I Love U Guys Foundation.
Board and executive session items
Trustees will consider nominating a candidate to the Hidalgo County Appraisal District Board of Directors for the 2026-2027 term and approve minutes from recent board meetings.
The board may convene in closed session to discuss personnel recommendations, employee resignations and retirements, school safety and security, pending or potential litigation, and possible real estate acquisition, as permitted under state law. Any action resulting from closed session discussions would occur in open session.
Upcoming meetings
The agenda also lists a budget workshop scheduled for Feb. 17 and the next regular board meeting set for Feb. 24.
