McAllen, TX - The McAllen Economic Development Corporation, in partnership with the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, the City of McAllen, Hidalgo County, South Texas Health System and Workforce Solutions, is encouraging residents to attend the Jumpstart Career Expo on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McAllen Convention Center. Organizers said the expo will feature employers representing healthcare, advanced manufacturing, logistics and supply chain, education, retail, public service and professional services industries.
Event details
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet directly with hiring managers, explore current job openings and learn about training and career advancement pathways. Organizers said Workforce Solutions will provide resources to support job seekers with training information, employer connections and related tools.
Officials said the event is intended to connect job seekers with employers who are actively hiring and to support regional workforce development efforts. County and city leaders said the expo aligns with broader economic development goals.
Preparation and access
Ralph Garcia, chief operating officer of the McAllen Economic Development Corporation, encouraged attendees to dress professionally, bring multiple copies of their résumé and be prepared to engage with employers.
