McAllen, TX - McAllen Parks and Recreation will host a Youth Chess Tournament on Saturday, March 7, at the Lark Community Center. The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
Tournament details
The event will feature an unrated Swiss-style tournament designed for young players. Participants will compete in multiple rounds against opponents of similar skill levels.
Organizers said the tournament is intended for beginner and intermediate players and will focus on building strategy, problem-solving skills and sportsmanship.
Registration and awards
Ribbons and trophies will be awarded in each division. The registration fee is $5 per participant.
Registration can be completed at any McAllen community center or at the department’s main office.
