McAllen, TX - The City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Department has announced the seasonal opening of splash pads at several city parks, offering free outdoor water play for families and children. The splash pads will operate Fridays through Sundays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Locations
Splash pad facilities are available at four parks across McAllen. The locations include Palm View Park at 3401 Jordan Road West, Zinnia Park at 5201 N. 29th St., the McAllen Youth Baseball Complex at 8201 N. 29th St., and Curtis Park at 301 E. Hackberry Ave.
City officials said the splash pads are designed to provide a recreational space where families can cool off during warmer weather while children enjoy water play features.
Operating schedule
All splash pad locations will follow the same operating schedule. The facilities will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each Friday through Sunday.
Parks officials said the water play areas offer a seasonal activity option for residents looking for outdoor recreation within the city’s park system.
Community recreation
The splash pads are free to the public and are intended to provide accessible family-friendly recreation across multiple neighborhoods in McAllen.
City officials encourage residents to visit the facilities during operating hours to take advantage of the outdoor amenities.
