McAllen, TX - The McAllen Public Library will waive overdue fines on returned materials during April as part of its Library Amnesty Month program.
According to the announcement, overdue items returned between April 1 and May 4 will have associated late fees cleared from patron accounts. Items may be returned to any McAllen Public Library location.
Program details
The amnesty applies to overdue library materials including books, DVDs and CDs, regardless of how long the items have been checked out.
This year’s theme, “Returning Books is the Way,” will be featured throughout the month with themed photo opportunities at the Main Library.
Event activities
The program will conclude with themed activities leading up to May 4, including a movie marathon, hands-on activities and a community event at the Main Library.
