McAllen, TX -The McAllen Public Library is seeking food vendors and community partners to participate in its upcoming World Cultures Festival scheduled for May 17. The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and is designed to highlight cultural traditions, food and educational experiences from around the world.
Festival participation
Library officials said the festival aims to connect families with organizations and vendors who can share cultural traditions, languages and experiences with the community. The event is expected to draw thousands of attendees and will feature interactive booths, demonstrations and food offerings.
Applications are currently open for groups and businesses interested in participating. Organizers said the festival provides an opportunity for participants to engage with residents while showcasing cultural heritage and traditions.
Community partner opportunities
Community organizations and groups may apply to host information booths or interactive activities during the event. Suggested activities include mini language lessons, cultural crafts, calligraphy demonstrations and traditional games.
Participants may also present information about programs and services offered by their organizations. Applications for community partners are due by March 31.
Food vendor participation
Food vendors are also invited to apply to serve traditional dishes representing different cultures. Organizers said the festival expects approximately 3,000 attendees.
The vendor participation fee is listed as $100. Interested food vendors must submit an application before the March 31 deadline.

Applications for both community partners and food vendors are available online through forms provided by the library. Organizers said selected participants will be part of a cultural event intended to promote community engagement and global learning.
