McAllen Public Library to Host Art Pathways Award Ceremony June 11 Honoring Young Artists Who Illustrated Favorite Book Scenes

McAllen TX - The McAllen Public Library will host an Art Pathways Contest awards ceremony Thursday, June 11, at 6 p.m. at the Main Library, 4001 N. 23rd St. The event is free and open to the public.
The contest challenged children and teens ages 5 through 18 to read a book and create an original painting of their favorite scene featuring Marty the Library Cat, the library’s official mascot. More than 200 submissions were received from students across the region, with artwork currently on display at various MPL locations.
Winning artwork will be unveiled at the ceremony. Winners, their families, and community members are invited to attend.
The event celebrates the creativity and artistic achievements of young readers while highlighting the connection between literacy and the arts.
