McAllen TX - The Palm View Branch of the McAllen Public Library has announced its September lineup of children’s, teen, adult and family programs, including bilingual storytimes and events celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month, observed Sept. 15 through Oct. 15.
La hora de los cuentos, a Spanish-language storytime, will be held Tuesdays, Sept. 1, 8, 15 and 29, at 11 a.m., featuring stories including “Los Pollitos,” “María tenía una llamita,” “Qué puedo hacer con una paleta,” and “Otoño.”
Toddler Time will be held Thursdays, Sept. 3, 10 and 17, at 11 a.m., with themes including Colors, Mexico and Seasons.
Additional programs include Unidos Contra La Diabetes on Sept. 3, a Junk Journaling for Teens Makerspace session on Sept. 10, an Eyeglass Holder Craft on Sept. 11, a Crochet 101 for Teens: Loom Knitting session on Sept. 15, Painting with Ms. Danice on Sept. 16, Chips and Salsa on Sept. 18, Crochet Club on Sept. 19, a Tech 101: Mouse and Keyboard session on Sept. 23, a Youth Bookmark Contest Makerspace session on Sept. 24, a Conchas & Café Craft on Sept. 25, a Teen Salsa 101 Class on Sept. 29, and Palm View Book Club on Sept. 30.
The branch will also host a series of Family Place Workshops throughout the month with community partners, including Hidalgo County Health & Human Services on Sept. 21, PR Nutrition on Sept. 22, Easterseals RGV on Sept. 23, Aqua Tots Swim School on Sept. 24, and MPL Kids on Sept. 26.
