McAllen, TX - The City of McAllen is seeking residents interested in serving on one of several city advisory boards, which provide input and recommendations on a range of municipal issues.
Eligibility requirements
According to the city, applicants must be residents of McAllen and qualified voters. Advisory board members are also expected to attend scheduled board meetings as part of their service.
Available boards and commissions
Vacancies are available on multiple boards, including the Airport Advisory Board, Building Board of Adjustments and Appeals, Civic Center Advisory Board, Community Development Board, Disability Board, Golf Course Advisory Board, Historic Preservation Center, McAllen Housing Finance Corporation, McAllen Library Board, Parks and Recreation Board, Senior Citizens’ Center Board, Traffic Commission and Keep McAllen Beautiful. City advisory boards are designed to provide community perspectives and guidance to city leadership on policies, programs and services that affect residents. Members typically serve in an advisory capacity and do not make final decisions.
