Educational outreach in McAllen
One of the week’s featured educational events will take place Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. at the McAllen Public Library, where the U.S. Naval Academy will host an admissions forum. The event is open to students and families interested in learning more about the application process, academic expectations and career opportunities available through the academy.
The forum is part of the Navy’s broader effort to engage students and young adults during Navy Week through direct interaction with service members and academy representatives.
City proclamations and ceremonial appearances

McAllen will also serve as a host city for several Navy Band and Ceremonial Guard performances throughout the week, including events at Oval Park and other public venues, drawing residents and visitors to downtown and community spaces.
Community engagement and public events
Additional Navy Week activities connected to McAllen include public displays, interactive exhibits and outreach events held in conjunction with regional celebrations.
