MCALLEN, Texas — MIJA Fest will take place from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at Oval Park at the McAllen Convention Center, featuring live jazz performances, artisan vendors and outdoor activities.
The free event will offer live music, food options and a pet-friendly environment for attendees.
Musical Performances
Scheduled performers include the Kirk Covington Trio featuring Dave Scher and John Fremgen, Ruby Laks, Ari and Cecil Alexander, David Friman Trio, Jemina Brechoire and Luis McDougal, Theresa Chen featuring Joel Frahm, Synergy Jazz Collective and the UTRGV Big Band.
A special performance by Night & Day is also planned.
Event Activities
Organizers state the festival will include live jazz entertainment, local artisan vendors and food offerings. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and pets for the outdoor event.
