RGV LEAD rolls out regional student entrepreneurship challenge with Jan. 14 virtual kickoff

McAllen, TX - RGV LEAD has launched the S3 Entrepreneurship Challenge, a regional initiative aimed at expanding hands-on entrepreneurial learning and industry engagement for students across the Rio Grande Valley.
Program launch and kickoff session
The S3 Entrepreneurship Challenge will begin with a virtual kickoff and informational session scheduled for Jan. 14 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The session, hosted via Zoom, will outline program expectations, timelines and collaboration opportunities for participating school districts, students, educators and community partners.
RGV LEAD is partnering with Career Bridge on the initiative.
Focus on real-world business skills
The challenge is designed to strengthen innovation, problem-solving and business development skills while connecting students with regional business and industry leaders. RGV LEAD will provide technical assistance, mentorship and ongoing engagement throughout the program to support long-term student outcomes.
Participation and costs
Participation fees are set at $40 per student for RGV LEAD member districts and $60 per student for non-member districts.
Opportunities for community partners
In addition to school districts, organizers are inviting businesses, nonprofits and industry leaders to participate as partners or sponsors. Partner organizations can contribute mentorship, industry insight and direct support for student-led entrepreneurial projects.
