McAllen, TX - Downtown McAllen will host a Valentine’s Day celebration Saturday, Feb. 14, as the Valentine’s Day Market on Main brings together live music, local vendors, art activities and a mass wedding ceremony along Main Street and at Archer Park.
Event details
The Valentine’s Day Market on Main is scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. along Main Street between Beech Avenue and Gumwood Avenue. The event will feature live music, curated vendors and Valentine’s-themed products and services aimed at couples, families and visitors.
The market is organized with support from Explore McAllen and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce as part of ongoing efforts to promote downtown activity, tourism and local businesses.
Mass wedding ceremony
As part of the festivities, a mass wedding ceremony will take place at Archer Park, where participating couples will exchange vows in a shared ceremony. The wedding will be presided over by Municipal Judge Lauren Sepulveda.
The Valley Symphony Orchestra Quartet is scheduled to provide live music during the ceremony.
Art and community activities
In addition to shopping and music, the event will include a community art activation at the Creative Incubator. Organizers said the activities are designed to create interactive and memorable experiences for attendees celebrating Valentine’s Day in downtown McAllen.
Purpose of the event
City and event representatives said the Valentine’s Day Market on Main is intended to celebrate the holiday while highlighting downtown McAllen as a destination for shopping, culture and special events. The event will also feature a StayCation package drawing and other themed offerings.
